The goal Introduce basic concepts of engineering electromagnetics required for mobile and satellite communication systems, RF and microwave engineering, radar systems, fast digital-signal interconnects, wireless systems, optical communications, optoelectronics, nanotechnologies, bioengineering, solid-state physics, plasma physics, power-engineering machines and systems, and electromagnetic compatibility.
The outcome Students will gain skills to identify, formulate, and solve basic engineering problems requiring knowledge of electromagnetics, and to understand principles of operation of typical devices and systems based on electromagnetic principles.
    Contents
Contents of lectures Differential and integral equations, boundary conditions and theorems of electrostatic, stationary current, stationary magnetic and quasistationary electromagnetic (EM) fields. Maxwell equations. Retarded potentials. Uniform plane EM waves. Reflection and refraction. Guided EM waves. Transmission-lines. Radiation of EM waves. Antennas. Electromagnetic compatibility.
