Enrollment in the undergraduate academic studies

If you are interested in electrical engineering and computer science, and you have strong inclinations towards mathematics and physics, and if you were successful in high school, then School of Electrical Engineering is the right school for you.

The School of Electrical Engineering has two accredited study programs for basic academic studies:

Electrical engineering and computing has a total accredited undergraduate enrollment of 540 and

Software engineering has a total accredited undergraduate enrollment of 180.

In the study program Electrical Engineering and Computing, the selection of one of the six modules, departments, is made after the first year of study. The modules are: Electronics and Digital systems, Power Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Signals and Systems, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Physical Electronics

There are no modules or courses in the Software Engineering study program; the program is unified.

Who can sign up for the School of Electrical Engineering?

Anyone who has completed a four-year high school can apply for enrollment in the first year of basic academic studies. All educational profiles are of a passing status for enrollment at the School of Electrical Engineering. The conditions under which citizens of the Republic of Serbia, members of the Serbian minority from neighboring countries and foreign citizens can enroll are prescribed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia.

When is the application for admission made?

The application is made after the announcement of the Competition for enrollment at the schools published by the University of Belgrade. It is usual to submit the documents at the end of June, and the entrance exam takes place in the last week of June or the first week of July. If there are vacancies, additional enrollment is organized in early September.

How many students are admitted to the first year of undergraduate studies?

In the last few years, the School of Electrical Engineering has enrolled 400 students financed from the budget and 140 self-financing students in the study program Electrical Engineering and Computing, as well as 30 students financed from the budget and 150 self-financing students in the study program Software Engineering. For each open competition, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia gives consent to the number of budget and self-financing places that are published in the competition.

What is the enrollment procedure?

The procedure for submitting documents, holding the entrance exam and the enrollment itself are described in detail on the School's website as well as in the Bulletin of Basic Information. The submission of documents lasts for three days. All candidates take the entrance exam in mathematics or physics or both subjects, unless they are not exempted from taking them by a special decision (special success in national and federal competitions in the third or fourth grade of high school in the field). On the first day, there is an exam in mathematics, and on the second day there is an exam in physics. Once the exam results have been publicly declared, ranking lists are formed according to which the registration of interested candidates is performed.

What are the options when enrolling?

When applying, candidates decide which study program they want to enroll in. Candidates applying to the School of Electrical Engineering apply for both study programs at the same time, provided that they pass the appropriate entrance exam. They opt for one study program, as their first wish, and if they get a budget place on it, they will not be on the list of another study program.

What about entrance exams?

The entrance exam for enrollment in the School of Electrical Engineering is the first obstacle places in front the future students.

When applying for the Competition, candidates choose which subjects they will take the entrance exams for: either mathematics or physics, or both.

When applying for the competition, candidates opt for one study program, as their first wish, and if they get a budget place on it, they will not be on the list of another study program.

Candidates who take the entrance exam in mathematics, or have applied with an award in mathematics, can be found on the lists of both study programs. Candidates who take the entrance exam only in Physics, or have applied only with an award in physics, are only on the list of study programs Electrical engineering and computing.

Candidates who applied with the award in Information Technology, the award is evaluated only on the list of the study program Software Engineering.

To enroll in the study program Electrical Engineering and Computing:

  1. The entrance exam in both subjects (mathematics and / or physics) is evaluated. In case the candidate has taken both entrance exams, the result with better performance is taken into account in calculating the total number of points. The exam in both subjects is scored equally.
  2. The entrance exam in mathematics or physics with the full number of points is recognized if the candidate won one of the first three awards at the national, federal or international competition in these areas, as a third or fourth grade student. Only national competitions organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia are recognized.

To enroll in the study program Software Engineering:

  1. The entrance exam in mathematics is evaluated.
