The goal To introduce students to basic electronic components and their characteristics, and to main types of analog electronic circuits. Analysis and characteristics of electronic circuits.
The outcome Students will acquire basic knowledge on the performance of analog electronic circuits. Students will be able to analyze simpler functional blocks.

Contents of lectures Diode. Bipolar transistor. Basic bipolar transistor amplifier stages. MOS transistor. Basic MOS amplifier stages. Twostage and multistage amplifiers. Current sources, active load. Differential amplifier. Feedback. Output stages. Operational amplifiers. Operational amplifier applications.
Contents of exercises Laboratory exercises: Static characteristics of semiconductors. Basic amplifier stages. Differential amplifier. Negative feedback. Operational amplifier applications. Class B power amplifier.

Methods of teaching Lectures and exercises: oral presentation using powerpoint slides, discussion, questions and answers. Laboratory exercises: Experimental work and measurements in the laboratory, supervised by a teaching assistant.
