Information on the study programme

1. Basic facts

1. Master academic studies at the School of Electrical Engineering, Belgrade University, last for two semesters and carry 60 ECTS credits. The total number of academic credits required for the degree of master engineer is 300 ECTS, which means that only the candidates who have already earned their bachelor degree of 240 ECTS credits at the School of Electrical Engineering or a similar institution are eligible for this programme.

2. Upon finishing their master studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the School of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, students obtain the academic title Master of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

3. Subjects in master studies carry 30 ECTS credits in total. Each course carries 6 ECTS credits and consists of 5 lessons per week unless specific module rules say otherwise. The remaining 30 ECTS are earned through writing the master thesis (13 ECTS).

4. The administrative procedure related to the choice of courses, registration, writing and defence of the master thesis is defined in the Guidelines, Guideline Amendments i Decisions of the Teaching-Scientific Council.

5. Each module has a list of courses. The student of that module must select at least three courses from that list, unless stated otherwise in the rules of the module.

6. The remaining two courses can be selected from the list of the same module or any other module, unless stated otherwise in the rules of the module. If the module leader approves, one of those two courses can be replaced by one of the two courses from the category general education, each of which carries 3 ECTS.

7. The offer of elective courses can be reviewed every school year in order to keep pace with developments in the field. The School has the right to decide which courses will be offered at the beginning of each semester, based on the interest of candidates and available resources.

8. Programmes were created for students who have completed bachelor studies at the School of Electrical Engineering. Other candidates may be required to take additional exams depending on the programme of the bachelor studies they completed.

9. If the student chose some of the courses in the status of an elective course and earned ECTS credits for that course within the required 240 ECTS credits for bachelor studies, they cannot select the same course on master academic studies. If the course was taken in addition to the required 240 ECTS credits, that course cannot be included into the required number of credits for master academic studies.

2. Master dissertation

The final master dissertation is the output of student's independent work which systematizes and applies scientific and professional knowledge to solve specific problems in the field of electrical and computer engineering.

A master dissertation proves the studen's capability to solve problems, originality in their approach, ability to draw appropriate conclusions, and ability to present content to professional public.

More detailed information is provided in the GuidelinesGuideline Amendments: Articles 26, 27, and 28 i Decision of the Teaching-Scientific Council.
