The goal Introduce the students to advanced telecommunication measurements and instrumentation. Make them capable of performing advanced communication signals and systems measurements. Make them capable of networking the instruments and connecting them to a computer.
The outcome The students will be able to connect and remotely operate different pieces of laboratory equipment, perform advanced telecommunications measurements, import the results to the computer and check their conformance to the standards and regulations.
Contents
Contents of lectures Spectrum monitoring. Transmission systems characterization. Network analyzer. Noise measurements. Cable and fiber-optic systems measurements. Measurements in computer and communication networks. Instrumentation networking and remote control. Measurement acquisition. Virtual instrumentation.
Contents of exercises Work in laboratory. Training in instruments use. Work in Python software.
