Course specification
Course title Optoelectronic Devices
Acronym OF4ON
Study programme Electrical Engineering and Computing
Module Physical Electronics
Type of study bachelor academic studies
Lecturer (for classes)
Lecturer/Associate (for practice)
Lecturer/Associate (for OTC)
    ESPB 6.0 Status elective
    Condition none
The goal Introducing the students to the basics physics concepts of semiconductor optoelectronic devices and their technology. Familiarizing with the different types of optoelectronic devices and details of their modelling and simulation.
The outcome Students should understand the principle of operation of semiconductor optoelectronic devices and become capable of creating basic mathematical-physical models for simulation of these devices. By relating device design to device performance and then relating device needs to system use the student can see how device design works in real world.
