      The goal Introduces students to the physical, technological and legal aspects of the treatment and disposal of toxic and radioactive waste.
      The outcome Prepare students for the treatment and storage of toxic and radioactive waste.
      Contents of lectures General concepts of radioactive material: type, quantity, condition. The situation in the country and abroad. Processing technology: dilution, concentration, chemical processing, ion exchange, evaporation, immobilization. Test methods for quality of solid form. Temporary storage. Permanent disposal: natural sites, engineering barriers. Disposal sites in the world. A disposal facility.
