      The goal A systematic explanation of the mothods for design of the error control codes and explanation of the corresponding decoding algorithms.
      The outcome Provide students with the ability to design advanced error control coding algorithms, implement and test them in a standard programming languages.
      Contents of lectures Performance evaluation for linear block codes by using simulation methods. Algorithms for decoding of Rid-Solomon codes. Punctured convolutional codes. Hybrid ARQ procedures, adaptive coding and modulation. Generalized Viterbi and BCJR algorithm. Turbo codes. Iterative decoding algorithms - MAP, SOVA. Low density parity chech codes, representation by using Tanner graphs and decoding algorithms.
