The goal | Introducing students to basic concepts of electrical machine design. Familiarization with basic principles of Finite Element Method (FEM) and application of dedicated software. | |||
The outcome | Upon completing the course, the students will be able to perform basic design-related calculations of electrical machines. | |||
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | Calculation of main machine dimensions. Calculation of winding emf and mmf. Design of windings and magnetic circuits. Calculation of electrical parameters of the machine based on the formed design. Design verification using the finite element method. | |||
Contents of exercises | Application of software tools for analytical calculations and simulation of electrical machines, as well as software tools based on the finite element method. | |||
