The goal To familiarize students with the trends in the field of research and development of modular instrumentation and distributed industrial fieldbus systems. Provide students with the ability to work in the field of electronic measurement instrumentation and measurement systems in the industry and development and research centers.
The outcome Upon completion of this course, students should know how to analyze, design and integrate hardware and software of modern modular or distributed measurement system.
Contents
Contents of lectures The systematic approach to the design of measurement systems. Modular meas. systems: Measuring hardware, user interface, interfacing; NIM, CAMAC, VME, VXI and PXI measurement instrumentation. Distributed meas. systems: Intelligent, wireless and web sensors; Fieldbus systems, communication protocols; IEEE 1451 series of standards; Industrial measurement networks. Software of measurement systems.
Contents of exercises Modern sensors and interfacing circuits Complex measurement systems. IEEE-488 based systems for measurement and testing Distributed fieldbus based measurement systems Measurement systems based on Internet Architecture, design and implementation of web sensors Architecture, design and implementation of wireless sensors
