      The goal Students are introduced in fundamental characteristics of multimedia signals, methods for processing and extracting characteristic features from multimedial content, and indexing material for searching large multimedial datasets.
      The outcome Empowering of students to use multimedia processing algorithms for different applications, and to use different methods for searching large multimedial datasets and retrieving desired material.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Main multimedia (MM) standards. Text, audio and video analysis within a multimedial dataset. Annotation. Editing. Shape, texture, color analysis. Video shot/boundary detection. Intelligent processing and feature extraction from MM content. Indexing. Describing content on structural and semantic level. Feature vector. Content based searching/retrieval. Semantic gap. User relevance feedback.
      Contents of exercises Implementation of processing techniques and characteristic feature selection of multimedial content.
