    Condition
    The goal To identify the problems of sustainable development concerning the energy needs of growing human population. To explain the advanced technologies of energy conversion from renewable sources and methods of measurement and prediction of energy potential, planning and making decisions.
    The outcome To apply in practice the knowledge of database collection and evaluation related to renewable energy sources conversion taking into account economical, ecological and social aspects together with energy conversion efficiency.

    Contents of lectures Influence of energy on the environment, economy, politics and military and social life. Sun as the energy source - direct solar energy conversion to heat and electricity. Wind, small hydro, tidal and biomass energy sources. Geothermal energy. Isolated energy sources and integration to the grid. Future trends. New technologies - hydrogen economy, fuel cells, Stirling converters. Energy efficiency.
