      The goal Introduction to electromagnetic scattering. Revision of fundamental localization and imaging techniques based on antenna measurements. Introduction to advanced microwave imaging techniques. Providing insight into practical imaging applications such as radar localization, noninvasive material evaluation, and medical diagnostics.
      The outcome Obtaining theoretical knowledge nesseccary for formulating and solving inverse scattering problems. Learning various up-to-date imaging and localization techniques. Gaining practical experience by applying selected microwave imaging techniques on experimental and simulated data.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Fundamentals of electromagnetic scattering. Forward and inverse problems. Non-linearity and ill-posedness of inverse problems. Regularization techniques. Linear inverse scattering techniques: MUSIC, singular value decomposition, holography, diffraction tomography. Radar imaging. Nonlinear inversion techniques: distorted Born iterative algorithm.
