    The goal Prepare students for understanding of the main concepts of video generation and transmission. - Introducing of the video and audio compression standards. - Introducing of contribution and distribution broadcast networks.
    The outcome Complete understanding of standards for video broadcasting networks, as well as its planning.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Image and video generation. Camera chain. Video and audio digitalization and compression. MPEG - 2, H. 264 AVC, HEVC. MPEG audio, Dolby compression. Standards and recommendations: DVB, EBU, ETSI, SMPTE, ITU, ATSC. Digital video broadcasting, MPEG stream, TS, GSE. Channel coding and modulation in DVB - x. Digital TV transmitter. Digital receiver. Distribution network planning.
    Contents of exercises Auditory exercises following lectures. Laboratory exercises in computer lab (simulation of production proceses) or production center. Visit to a transmitter location. Distribution network planning.
