|Introduce basics of the receiving and transmitting antennas and basics of the radio wave propagation, according to modern telecommunications needs.

|Basic theory of receiving and transmitting antennas. Analysis and synthesis methods. Hertz dipole. Loop antenna. Huygens radiator. Thin wire antennas. Antenna arrays. Horn antennas. Reflector antennas. Lens antennas. Slot antennas. Attenuation of radio waves in free space. Surface wave. Space wave. Tropospheric wave. Diffraction of radio waves. Wave propagation through ionosphere.
