    The goal Learning about: modern principles of processing and presenting measurement results according to internationally adopted standards; statistical methods for analyzing measurement results; classical and quantum-mechanical methods of realizing SI units.
    The outcome Expressing measurement uncertainty in accordance with internationally adopted standards and regulations. Selection of adequate measuring equipment. Connecting programmable instruments using various industrial protocols. Use of the personal computer as a measuring instrument.
    Contents of lectures International system of units. Expressing measurement uncertainty according to internationally adopted standards and regulations. Definitions of basic and derived SI units and their realization. Modern trends in the development of measuring instruments. Automatization of the measuring process by use of computers and microprocessors.
    Contents of exercises Exrpessing uncertainty in measurements of non-electrical and electrical quantities. Principles for absolute realization of basic and derived SI units. Programmable measuring instruments and industrial standards for their connections. Using the personal computer as an instrument for measurement and data acquisition.
