    The goal Introducing students to the advanced topologies of converters. Comparative analysis of individual topologies from the point of view of the quality of electricity use and the quality of voltage at load. Introducing students to the advanced techniques of pulse-width modulation, analysis of harmonic distortions and output voltage filters.
    The outcome Students should understand the principles of operation of PWM choppers and single-phase and three-phase voltage-controlled PWM inverters. Based on the acquired knowledge, students should be able to choose the optimal topology of choppers and inverters for the given working conditions.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Chopper types: voltage dropper, voltage riser, voltage dropper. Choppers with galvanic isolation: direct and indirect choppers, semi-diagonal bridge. Multiphase choppers. Single-phase and three-phase inverters with square output voltage, harmonic distortions and Advanced pulse-width modulation techniques, PWM voltage inverters. Multilevel inverters.
    Contents of exercises Analysis of PWM chopper and PWM voltage inverter operation by measurement on laboratory converter prototypes.
