      Condition
      The goal Students gain knowledge of nuclear measurement methods in technological processes, techniques of designing the gauge for specific uses and principles of radiation protection of exposed workers and the population when using nuclear gauges.
      The outcome Students are capable to determine the nuclear measurement method for the specific application and to create a gauge and to design radiation protection programme for the application of nuclear gauges.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Transmission, emission and absorption methods. Methods based on scattering. Level gauges, gauges for thickness, density, flow, humidity, corrosion and material ageing. Selection of radiation sources and detection systems. Numerical simulations, design and performance of gauges. Dynamic analysis and prototyping of gauges. Legislation and radiation protection for the application of nuclear gauges.
