The goal 1. Introduce students to fundamentals of modern Operating Systems. 2. Introduce students to fundamentals of System Programming. 3. Introduce students to fundamentals of DBMS. 4. Provide students with the ability to to use and analyze commercially available operating systems, systems programming tools and Database Management Systems.
The outcome Students are capable to use and analyze commercially available operating systems, systems programming tools and Database Management Systems.

Contents of lectures Purposes and Types of modern operating systems. Multiprogramming and multiprocessing. Memory management. I/O Concepts. File Systems. Systems Programming. Assemblers, Interpreters, Compilers. Linkers. Loaders. Fundamentals and Principles of DBMS. E-R Model. Relational Model. Relational Algebra & Calculus, SQL. Object-Oriented DB.Transaction processing. Crash recovery. Case stydies.
Contents of exercises Laboratory exercises and analysis of commercially available operating systems, systems programming tools and Database Management Systems.

Methods of teaching 30 hours of lectures + 30 hours of supervised problem classes + 15 hours of supervised laboratory classes, midterm tests and project.
