    The goal Introduce elements of CISC and RISC processor’s architectures and processor’s organizations without and with instruction level parallelisms.
    The outcome By the end of this course, students will be able to: understand CISC and RISC processors architecture; understand the structure and functioning of a processors without and with instruction level parallelisms; use literature with the aim to deepen their knowledge in these fields.

    Contents of lectures None.
    Contents of exercises Architecture. CISC and RISC architecture. Organization. Execution without instruction phases overlapping. Processing unit. Controll unit. Execution with instruction phases overlapping. Hazards. Techniques for avoiding and decreasing negative hazard effects.
