    The goal 1) Understanding how operate advanced optoelectronic devices used in optical networks. 2) Recognizing nonlinear optical processes which obstruct correct data transmission in optical networks. 3) Introducing students to modern optical signal switching. 4) Explanation how to utilize advantages of optical networks.
    The outcome It is expected that student: 1) learn basic optoelectronic components and elements in optical networks, 2) understand difference and advantages of optical signal switching, 3) learn all type of backbone, metro and access optical networks and basis of its construction, and 4) learn basic measurement methods and instrumentation used in optical networks.
