13E034AOS - Adaprive Signal Processing

Course specification
Course title Adaprive Signal Processing
Acronym 13E034AOS
Study programme Electrical Engineering and Computing
Module
Type of study bachelor academic studies
Lecturer (for classes)
Lecturer/Associate (for practice)
Lecturer/Associate (for OTC)
ESPB 6.0 Status elective
Condition Signal Processing 1
The goal Objective of the course is to present adaptive signal processing techniques. The focus is usage of adaptive signal processing concepts in telecommunications and audio systems.
The outcome Students will learn techniques of adaptive signal processing suitable for solving of practical problems. They will be taught adaptive filter structures and related adaptive algorithms. They will be trained to design a solution for practical problems related to telecommunications and processing of audio signals. They will be trained to use MATLAB (MATLAB clone) in simulation of adaptive systems.
Contents
Contents of lectures Discrete stochastic processing and models, Wiener filters, linear prediction, method of steepest descent, least - mean - square adaptive filters, Kalman filters, adaptive filters using infinite - duration impulse response structure, adaptive filtering application, adaptive systems based on sub - band decomposition, blind equalisation.
Contents of exercises Algorithms analysis and synthesis in MATLAB (MATLAB clone). Programing of DSP processor (evaluation board).
