The goal Explanation of the basic concepts of power system elements protection. Introduction of the basic concept of protection relays and protection of lines, generators, transformers buses, motors and capacitors. Explanation of the basics of electromechanical, electronic and digital relays.
The outcome Students gain the ability to utilize and maintain protection systems of power system elements.
Contents
Contents of lectures Protective relays of the first, second and third generation. Protection of lines and cables, generators, transformers, buses, motor and capacitor. Backup protection.
Contents of exercises Auditory exercises, computer exercises and laboratory exercises.
