The goal Goal of this course is to introduce students to the statistics and modelling of the telecommunication traffic.
The outcome Students will learn to implement simulators of different traffic types for the network performance analysis, or to mathematically analyze the network performance for the given traffic statistics and distribution.
      Contents
Contents of lectures Telecommunication traffic with different statistical properties will be studied in this course, such as Poisson, Markov, Pareto etc. We will analyze the influence of the traffic statistics on the quality of service, i.e delay, packet drop probability, session drop probability and so on. Also, statistical properties of the traffic which uses different transport protocols will be examined.
