      The goal Introducing the students to advanced techniques and methods of high voltage measurement in power engineering. Special reference to the unconventional technique of measuring electrical quantities as well as the partial discharge measurement procedures with the aim of preventive nondestructive diagnostics of elements of power systems.
      The outcome Students will be informed about the advanced techniques and methods of high voltage measurement in power engineering. A special emphasis will be given to the unconventional technique of measuring electrical quantities as well as the partial discharge measurement procedures with the aim of preventive nondestructive diagnostics of elements of power systems.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Testing of electrical equipment using high voltage and surge currents. Conventional and unconventional methods of measurement. Optoelectronic devices for current and voltage measuring. Partial discharge - a description of the process, the detection and measurement, location. Planning of high-voltage laboratory. The application of statistics in high voltage technique.
      Contents of exercises Practical teaching is related to the performing the experimental exercises in the laboratory and computational tasks in the classroom.
