    The goal Provide students with basic characteristics and testing methods of biomaterials, and their applications for bioimplants in medicine and dentistry.
    The outcome Po završetku ovog kursa studenti bi trebalo da umeju da: - Prepoznaju osnovne karakteristike biomaterijala - Odaberu osnovne metode karakterizacije biomaterijala - Preporuče biomaterijale i bioimplantate u medicini i stomatologiji
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Introduction. Characterization of biomaterials (structural, mechanical, physical, chemical, biochemical). Characteristics and engineering of biomaterials (metals, ceramics, polymers, composites, bioderivatives). Exploiting stability of biomaterials. Organism reaction on biomaterials. Bioimplants in medicine and dentistry. Selection of biomaterials for construction of bioimplants.
    Contents of exercises Practices, seminars and demonstrations in other centres and laboratories.

    Methods of teaching 45 hours of lectures + 15 hours of supervised problem classes + 15 hours of seminars and demonstrations in other centres and laboratories, student seminars with presentations, pre-exam by the end of semestre. Approximately 75 hours of personal study and exercise (3 hours per week during semestre, and approximately 30 hours of preparation during exam term).
