    Condition
    The goal Prepare students with the ability to identify and decompose power system operations problems. Prepare students with the ability to prepare input data necessary for solving procedures of different power system operation problems and to formulate objective functions.
    The outcome Prepare students with the ability to develop and to implement algorithms for the solution of various problems, as well as to understand and to present given results. Prepare students with the ability to conduct power system operation analysis using standard program packages.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures Load forecasting, loss coefficient calculation, unit commitment module, economic dispatching. Optimal power flow. Linear programming. Newton’s gradient methods. Security analysis. Shift factors calculation algorithm. Transmission costs and transit costs in interconnected power systems calculations. Congestion management. Market splitting algorithm. Coordinated auction algorithm.
