        The goal Training of students to implement their own algorithms for image processing and analysis.
        The outcome After this course, the students are able to use software packages and to write their own programs.
        Contents of lectures Fundamentals of digital image processing. Formation of digital image and video signals. Discretization of 2D signals. Image transformations. Improvement of picture quality in space and transform domain. Improvement of color images. Picture degradation and restoration. Image compression. Standards for image compression. Processing of video signals. Edge detection. Image segmentation.
