        Condition Passed the examination - Speech Signal Processing, or at least one published work in the field of speech signal processing.
        The goal Course includes introduction of students to techniques of speech synthesis and recognition and basic elements in speech understanding for human-computer communication.
        The outcome Creating a background for developing a master work.
        Contents
        Contents of lectures Comprehension of spoken language: natural language processing (NLP), dialog structures; speech synthesis: TTS systems, rules-based synthesis, concatenative synthesis, prosody generating, speech recognition techniques: DTW, HMM, ANN, methods of speech, speaker & language recognition; human-computer communication: dialogue management, speech to speech translation, audio-visual speech communication.
        Contents of exercises The application of various software tools in the speech signal processing and working out an adopted theoretical and practical knowledge through seminars and/or projects.
