Type of study doctoral studies
Lecturer (for classes)
Lecturer/Associate (for practice)
    Lecturer/Associate (for OTC)
      ESPB 9.0 Status elective
      Condition
The goal Learning about the physical basics of radiation damage and electromagnetic noise in modern electronic components and devices, along with the possible changes in the properties and functionality of these devices caused by exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
The outcome Ability to anticipate the effects that various types of radiation cause in electronic components, apply measures for removing or mitigating these effects, or predict the functionality of irradiated devices.
      Contents
Contents of lectures Radiation effects in bipolar circuits, semiconductor memories, solar cells, gas tubes, organic dielectrics, and components based on new materials. Electromagnetic (EM) noise in active components and digital circuits. Electrostatic discharge and atmospheric noise. Radiation and EM compatibility testing. Measures for protecting devices from radiation and EM noise.
