The goal Students learns about families of digital and analog integrated circuits based on Si, GaAs, semiconductor heterostructures, polymers and hybrid technology. Design, manufacturing, performance limits on optimization of these devices is studied from the aspects of technology, geometry and manufacturing process.
The outcome Student learns technology aspects of analog, digital and mixed signal IC design. Student is capable of optimizin circuit topology and realize it in the integrated circuit form with its technology limitations.
      Contents
Contents of lectures Integrated circuit design. Monolithic ICs, procedures and rules. IC topologies. Design limitations inferred from technology. Standard IC design. Custom IC design (ASIC). Design methodology. Thermal IC design. Design of hybrid ICs, thick film ICs and thin film ICs.
      Contents of exercises none
