    The outcome Acquiring operational knowledge in the physics of ultrashort laser pulses and their interaction with matter, as well as understanding applications for measuring ultrafast dynamic processes.

    Contents of lectures Maxwell-Bloch equations. Nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Active mode locking. Passive mode locking. Saturable absorber. Optical frequency combs. Ultrafast phenomena in the terahertz region. Instabilities and chaos.
