Contents of lectures Numerical methods for 3D modeling of antennas/scatterers: MoM, FEM, TLM, FDTD, PO, GO, hybrid methods. Overview of software tools: NEC, MiniNEC, SuperNEC, WireZeus, AWAS, OSU code, FEKO, IE3D, HFSS, CST, WIPL-D. Advanced modeling techniques with focus on wire antennas (dipole, yagi, helical), horn antennas, reflector antennas, microstrip antenna and antenna arrays. Matching circuits. Optimization.
Contents of exercises Work in the laboratory, practical use of WIPL-D software for designing antennas.
