The goal | The aim of the subject is to introduce students to the concepts, technologies, planning and exploitation of industrial distribution networks. In addition, it is necessary to introduce students to aspects of the network economy, quality of delivery of electricity and thermal boundary regimes.
The outcome | Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: Independently analyze and design medium-sized distribution and industrial networks; Apply methods for network optimization, loss reduction, and reliability enhancement; Use software tools for modeling and simulation of electric networks; Evaluate technical and economic performance and propose practical solutions.
Contents | ||||
Contents of lectures | General considerations. Load characteristics. A household as an element of the system. Industrial consumers. Principle network solutions. Load forecasting. Load flow. Reliability and security. Reconfiguration and losses. Technical and economic aspects. The economic load. Optimal parameters of the network. Thermal aspects of the network elements loading. Electric power quality. Voltage regulation.
Contents of exercises | Solving power system analysis tasks independently; Using software tools; Analyzing real-world case studies; Working on a mini project in planning or optimization of networks.
