      The goal Enabling students to use modern methods of numerical modeling of phenomena in the operation of switching apparatus in order to analyze dielectric stresses in different switching operations.
      The outcome Enabling students to analyze phenomena during the operation of switching equipment with the aim of working on studies and design projects. Enabling students to apply modern methods of maintenance of switching equipment based on analysis of the condition and reliability of equipment.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Interruption of short circuit currents. Out-of-phase switching. Load switching. Transient recovery voltage. Dielectric stresses. Calculation of switching transients. Current interruption in gaseous media. Current interruption in vacuum. Special switching situations. Testing of high voltage equipment.
