The goal Introduction to topologies of power converters and their implementation in industrial environments (uninterruptible power supplies, regulated DC and AC drives, electrostatic precipitators , etc.). Study of topologies of power converters applied in energy conversion systems in the field of renewable energy sources.
The outcome Students should understand principles of operation of the analyzed power converter configurations. Based on the obtained knowledge, and for given operating conditions, students should be able to choose the appropriate controller and power converter topology. Students will be introduced and trained to be able to independently design the main power circuits and control circuits of power converters.
      Contents
Contents of lectures 1. Topologies of power converters (AC/AC, AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC) 2.Basic principle, topology and classification of PWM power converters 3.Design of passive components in power converters 4.Design of SCR and switch mode power converters 5.Design of PFC power converters
Contents of exercises For students who are interested, there is a possibility of practical work at the Institute "M.Pupin", Laboratory for Mechatronics. Students who are interested in practical work can contact the research professor: Zeljko V.Despotovic, PhD.E.E, Full Research Professor, IEEE senior member, Mihajlo Pupin Institute, University of Belgrade Contact: zeljko.despotovic@pupin.rs, Phone: 011/6771024
