The goal Introduction students with process of analysis of Investor requests and network design solutions. Development of analytical capabilities of students for correlation of requests and possibilities of different technologies. Introduction students with legislation relevant for creating high level and low level network design.
The outcome Students should be proficient to: - analyze requests for network design; - do low level and high level network design in accordance with legislation and technical standards.
Contents
Contents of lectures Legislation. Data characteristics. Communication networks and systems. Characteristics of communication services. Structured cabling systems. IP/MPLS, WDM technology. LAN, MAN, WAN, metro network design. Network management. Making technical documentation. Analysis of real world projects.
Contents of exercises Students will familiarize with legislation of network design and technical issues of network design. Analysis of real world projects with working out of new technologies as potential solutions.

Methods of teaching Teaching, exercises and practical demonstration of some elements relevant for the process of network design. At the end of semester, students are doing by themselves low level and high level design of complex telecommunication network.
