    The goal Introduction to basic structure, working principle, conventions and standards related to DC machines, to the extent necessary for their use in a wide range of applications.
    The outcome Theoretical knowledge and practical skills through laboratory exercises for quickly mastering the techniques of using the DC machines in a wide range of industrial applications: electric drives, traction and automated processes.
    Contents
    Contents of lectures The main structural components and roles. Field and armature coils. Magnetic armature reaction. The main formulas. Linear and nonlinear switching. General performance characteristics of DC motors and generators. Special DC machines for testing and applications in automatics: switched reluctance motors, brushles DC machines.
    Contents of exercises Compulsory laboratory exercises including DC machine testing and determination of their working characteristics.
