    Lecturer/Associate (for practice)
      Lecturer/Associate (for OTC)
        ESPB 9.0 Status elective
        Condition No prerequisite
The goal The rooms are the most common form of acoustic transmission systems. The object of the course is to provide the student with the necessary knowledge of the methods for adjusting the acoustic response of the room. The course contains basic characteristics of the absorbers and diffusers as well as their application.
The outcome Students after this course should understand the methods for controlling the sound field in the room and adjusting the room acoustic response according to its purpose.Subjective effects of the sound field in the room
        Contents
Contents of lectures Types of absorbent materials, porous materials, acoustic resonators, mechanical resonators. Types of diffusers, calculation of their structure. Subjective effects of reflection and reverberation. Basic acoustics characteristics of rooms for speech, for sound reproduction and for sound production (concert and opera halls).
Contents of exercises Measurement of absorption coefficient and scattering coefficient. Measurements in rooms of different purpose.
