The goal Learning students basic protocols of Internet.
Experience in configuring routers
The outcome The course offer wide introduction of computer networks in general, based on communication protocols on different layers (from bottom up to top layer). Having lectures on this course the students clearly figure out the functionality of computer network from physical up to application layer.
Contents
Contents of lectures Internet protocol layers; LAN technology - Ethernet; switching, STP, RSTP, VLAN; WAN - HDLC, PPP, Frame Relay; Network layer – IP addressing, routing, ARP, ICMP; Routing protocols - Distant Vector, RIP; Link State, OSPF, redistribution; Transport layer - TCP, UDP; other protocols - RARP, BOOTP, DHCP, NAT; Application layer - DNS; IPv6, auto-configuration, transition from IPv4 to IPv6.
